“My doctor doesn’t have my best interest at heart. I leave appointments feeling discouraged.”

Feeling unheard by doctors? Discover a compassionate, personalized approach to understand your health and start your healing journey.

I often hear something like this when I first meet clients. They have seen several doctors, and their health problems are still plaguing them. I think the reason people feel this way is because 1) they’re told nothing is wrong with them, 2) they have a problem that’s not “serious enough” to do something about, or 3) the proposed treatment for the problem doesn’t seem to make sense for their situation.

Imagine…

You are tired all the time, bloated, your hair is falling out, and you don’t sleep well. But all of your test results are normal so there’s “nothing wrong with you.” Sound familiar?

You are having urinary problems, but there’s no infection found, and your other tests showed nothing abnormal. The conclusion sounds to you something like, “I’m comfortable with the amount of discomfort you’re in.”

You have debilitating joint pain, and even though your test results are negative for it, your symptoms are similar to a certain autoimmune disease. So you are prescribed medication to treat that disease, but the medication doesn’t cause any improvement and neither do anti-inflammatories.

I have tremendous compassion for anyone coming to me from such situations. Here’s how I approach them.

First, if my clients have problems they want help with, then that goes on my agenda for our work together. It doesn’t have to fit any formal diagnostic criteria. Not feeling as well as you want is enough of a reason.

The first Action Plan I create for clients addresses their most pressing discomforts. That way, they free up the inner resources to move on to deeper healing. It’s about creating relief first, so the body has the energy and space to begin real change.

Second, we can pause and be grateful if whatever is going on is not registering on the radar of medicine. It’s in the realm of self-care instead. Yes, it is discouraging to go to a doctor hoping for a solution and come away without a diagnosis. At the same time, it’s a relief that the diagnostic work-ups didn’t find something that medicine considers to be a serious problem.

I use the concerning symptoms, health history, and test data to analyze what makes a person’s whole health tick. And then I try to characterize that for them in writing, visually, and walk them through it personally. This helps clients see a clear picture of their health in a way that validates their experience and removes confusion.

Third, when you do have a serious problem, and medicine doesn’t have a solution for it, coming to terms with that unwanted fact is the beginning of you finding your healing path.

Ultimately, my goal is to help clients feel seen, understood, and empowered, to take ownership of their health journey even when the conventional system hasn’t provided answers. Healing doesn’t always follow a straight line, but knowing where you stand and having a clear, compassionate plan changes everything. If you’re ready to move past frustration and finally feel seen, understood, and supported in your health journey, I invite you to take the first step and explore how we can create a personalized path forward together.
