Your Holistic Health Fingerprint is a powerful move toward reclaiming your well-being.

This page will guide you through a series of simple, at-home tests that reveal how your body is functioning beneath the surface — your physiology, your metabolism, your internal rhythm. Each measurement is a piece of your story, and gathering this data is like sharpening your tools: it prepares you to move forward with clarity, precision, and strength. You don’t have to figure it out alone. I’ll walk you through it, step by step.

Assessment Timing

Run all of these tests, except the fasting glucose, at least 2 hours after eating, exercising, or bathing, and not first thing in the morning. Ideal times to run the tests are 2 hours after breakfast, or 2 hours after lunch. The second morning’s urine before breakfast is also a good time. Don’t drink or have anything in your mouth for at least 20 minutes before testing. It takes 20-30 minutes to run all of the tests at once.

Breath Rate & Breath Hold Time

Equipment

Timer and Stopwatch on your cellphone

Breath Rate

• You should be doing something like reading so you are not paying attention to and unconsciously controlling your breath.  
• Lie down, set the timer on your phone for 30 seconds, and don’t look at it after you hit start.  
• Count your inhales for 30 seconds, then multiply by 2.
• Try to not focus on controlling your breathing. Try to think of something else while you are counting. 

Breath Hold Time

• Take three relaxed breaths in and out.  
• On the fourth inhale start your stopwatch at the top of the inhale.
• Don’t look at your stopwatch.
• Hold for as long as is comfortable.  
• Note the time you hold.

Resting & Standing Blood Pressures and Pulses

Equipment

Order your Omron Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitor, use your own monitor, or pick one up at a drug store.

• Start lying down. Rest for 3-5 minutes.
• Test on your left arm according to the directions for your blood pressure cuff.
• Write down the BP and pulse.
• Then, while lying down, press the start button again to start the inflation.
• Make your way to a standing position and hold your arm still as not to disturb the machine from taking its reading.
• Write down the BP and pulse when they show.

• Test anytime except not first a.m.
• Nothing in the mouth for at least 20 minutes.

Saliva & Urine pHs

Equipment

Saliva pH

• Bring up a little saliva between your lips and run the test strip through the saliva.  
• Read against the chart right away.  The color will get darker as the seconds go by. So, read saliva pH within 3 seconds. This is not the case with urine pH.

Urine pH

• Hold the test strip in your urine stream for a second and dab the edge of the strip on a paper towel or toilet paper.  
• Read against the color chart.
• If the chart goes from 6 to 6.5 and the result is somewhere in between, make a guess and say 6.3 or wherever you think it lands.

10-Parameter Urinalysis

Equipment

• Collect urine in a glass or plastic container that is an appropriate shape so you can dip the dip stick into the urine.
• Read and follow the instructions on the test strip container.
• You will need your timer to read the results.
• Dip the test strip into the urine.
• Dab the side of the test strip on a paper towel before reading and start a 60 second timer..
• Take a picture of the strip after 60 seconds to help you read the results.
• Circle your results on the results chart portion of the Home Test Tracker or note them in the Food Journal section of The Coalition.

Fasting Glucose

Perform this test first thing in the morning before brushing your teeth, at least 10 hours after eating if possible.
